Day 199 : Push...

This is the entrance into The House of Secrets which is a fantastic comic book shop in Burbank. I picked volumes 3 & 4 in the "Y: The Last Man" graphic novel series. Good golly these books are addicting. I keep wondering if the Brian K. Vaughan, who wrote the series works on lot, cause he is also a writer on "Lost". Hmm.

Day 198 : It's Spring Again

Don't you like when the winter's gone
And all of a sudden it starts gettin warm
The trees and the grass start lookin fresh
And the sun and sky be lookin their best
Birds be singin, flowers be bloomin
A lot of brand new cars be zoomin
Fly girls lookin the best they can be
And the guys be dukey dukey Dan you see
Besides all that I like the warm weather
Cause that's when you can get yourself together
But I like Easter time with a grin
Cause when I was little we used to go to Coney I-sland
We used to eat a lot of stuff like cotton candy
Cause back then, it was like fine and dandy
You used to get dressed up in double knits
And your plaid suit jackets, they were the shits
The good ol' days, was back then
And the reason I reminisce, cause..

Day 197 : Corral Cafe

Lunch at the Corral Cafe was really great, BUT whats the deal with only having like two bananas in the "banana" cream pie!?!?

Day 196 : peek-a-boo...

Day 195 : Roller Blue

Day two of refinishing the old furniture for my little girl. It was a lot of work, but she LOVES her "new" bed and dresser. We took out the crib and put in her big girl bed. There were some tears from Mommy. As we kissed her goodnight she whispered "i like my big girl bed". Amazingly, she slept all night without the walls of her crib that she spent the last two years in. She's a big girl.

Day 194 : old dresser

I love this piece of furniture. I love that you can see the years on it. It's cracked and worn. It the kind of thing I would love to keep, as is, in my living room. But, alas, that is not what is intended for. I spent the weekend striping it of it's years and applied a primer and several coats of paint to it. Now it is pretty and new.

I liked it old, but this piece of furniture is not for me. It's now in my little girls room. My little girl, who day by day, becomes less little. It sits beside the old bed, that has also been made new for my girl.

I like the furniture old, but now I love it looking new, because it's for my not-so-little girl.

Day 193 : Zig Zag

Someones secrets youve seen
Eyes and ears have been
Satellite dish in my yard
Tell me more, tell me more
Whos the king of your satellite castle?"

Day 186 : Production Electric

I know when most people think of the back lot of a movie studio, they think of three things:

1. Actors dressed as cowboys, roman soldiers, and aliens all standing around the craft services table snacking on food and chatting,
2. two guys moving a large painted backdrop from one stage to the next,
3. producers and studio execs cruising around in golf carts.

Well on our lot, #3 is never allowed. Instead, those in a hurry travel by bike. There are bikes all over the lot, most labeled with the department they're intended for, in this Production Electric.

Day 185 : Lamp Light Fountain

I know, two fountains in one week may be a bit excessive, but I really like the way the water refracts the lamp light .

Day 180 : Say Hey Ganesha

I found this fella at the entrance to the Kimodo Dragon exhibit at the Los Angeles Zoo. Then I added this texture from patch work bunny: www.flickr.com/photos/patchworkbunny/3319483734/

I usually do very little processing to my photos, but I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. I'd love to hear and thoughts, tips or comments about the processing of this shot.

Thanks for the texture pwb!

Day 178 : Do you?

I thought I did, but I forgot.

Day 177 : Light Show

Here is the previous shot of the necklace from Day 174:
